Went to the Pirate Invasion yesterday in Long Beach. Probably more than 3000 people dressed as pirates. Two day event.

Looks like fun! Is this an annual event?

Yes, though I hadn't heard of it until yesterday morning. As you can see from the photos, some of the participants spend a lot of time and money on it.

Kind of like some people really get into dressing up for Star Trek conventions.

The Renaissance Fair in April is big around here too.
